99. The FROST Event and FATEwear new releases

I thought I'd wish everyone a "Happy Day Before the End of the World!".  Sounds so festive and celebratory...no?  Ok, yeah I might have my doubts, but I also have a basement with a load of bottled water and Christmas cookies.  I'm good either way.

I've been spending some time running around SL lately with the lovely and talented Lavindia Jewell Fox as she dragged me through The Frost Event against my will...to start.  But, then I started shopping and ditched her.  Ok, I didn't ditch her, I knew she was still on the sim someplace.

So, in the end, I've teamed up some of my great finds from the The Frost Event with some of the great new releases from FATEwear.  These great knit gloves, and socks come in either solids or stripes and go perfect with the striped scarves that were just released by FATEwear and are perfect for finishing off that warm and cozy winter look.

94. The Falkoty Peacoat

Happy Hump Day!

Midway through another week and Hallowe'en is just a week away!  Time has really been slipping through my fingers this autumn and I'm not sure why or how...

I do have to admit that I've been feeling a little less than inspired lately when it comes to shopping.  I try to keep my eye open for things that show real creativity, skill and quality.  But, lately, I seem to just keep stumbling on things that don't really catch my eye, similar to other things that are already out there or are very simply a mesh full perm item that's in mass production all over the grid.

Don't get me wrong!  I have nothing against using the templated/full perms mesh, but I expect to some real creativity and thought to be put into the texturing of it.  Even then I don't expect to pay more for the item than the full perm package cost to start with!  But, that's just me.

I want to see creativity from creators.

That being said, I am showing off this outfit I put together around BuFu's Falkoty peacoat.  Yep, you've seen this same mesh in other stores.  But, BuFu added their own spin to this one!  I really love the fur lining details at the collar, cuffs and pockets.  It really does give it that warm comfortable feel.  I've added my fun scarf from Sey that was a group gift.  It comes with a hud to tint it as well as change between pumpkin and spider web textures.

89. Boot Pants!

I don't know if this drives you as crazy as it drives me, but I just hate when I'm wearing something and the mesh clips or pops through something else that I'm wearing.  The biggest area of concern for this issue has always been with the hem of your pants meeting your boots or shoes.  Well, Tableau Vivant has come up with a solution for those boot issue with their newly released Boot Pants!  These tight fitting pants stay tapered against the leg allowing you to wear almost any boot without the pants popping through.

I also had to pick up the amazing boots that they had used in their promo pictures because well...clearly they are awesome!  I carried the studs through into a cuff on my wrist and finished off the look with the classic staple of the motorcycle jacket.  But, the twist to this one is the python texturing.  You gotta keep things interesting ... especially if you are going with an all black look.

87. Xplosion of Style!

Hey all!

I just got these awesome review copies from Xplosion!  The Fever MeshTop and the X*Bolt MeshPants both come in a range of colour and textures to suit just about any style and any mood.

I was so impressed with the unique styling of these items that I just had to put together two different looks focusing on these two pieces.  The first look is more of a dark urban look and the second leaps off from more of a punk vibe.

I am always a sucker for black, and love it in this shirt.  The deep cowl neck shows off your tats, chest hair, bling..whatever you got going on.  And the armbands compliment the belt of the jeans perfectly to tie your look together with no real effort on your part!

These jeans sit low on the hips and have a built in belt and chain. I'm not usually a fan of built in accessories but they really do have their merits in the world of mesh if they are well done. And they are definitely well done in this case.  The studded belt and chain co-ordinate with the armbands of the shirt as mentioned and give a cool rocker vibe to your overall look.  These jeans come in lots of colours and patterns and even in leather if you are feeling extra edgy.

82. Not So Bad ... Pretty Good

Hey All!

Let me take a moment here.  I have to confide in you that I need to slow down on my blog for personal and real life reasons.  So, I apologize to you all for that.  I do appreciate the support of everyone that comes here and I hope that I've helped you out and will do my best to squeeze in some posts from time to time.

Ok, now to the fun stuff.  Not So Bad has released new Joris jeans and the Mason t-shirt with prints.  The jeans are superb in both design and texture.  They have a nice thick cuff at the hem and a higher crotch than their previous releases.  The height of the cuff will allow you to wear any kicks you want without the dreaded clipping of mesh on shoe.  It's important to note that their sizing isn't conforming to standardized sizing though.  I am a medium in standardized sizing and have gone with both a small pant and shirt for these images.

The Mason t-shirts come in a range of colours with a variety of printed sayings.  I've gone with the pink "Bad Hair Day" version of the shirt even if my hair is looking awesome!  The shirt is nicely sculpted but the texture is less refined than that of the jeans.  I also find that the shirt does clip the jeans a bit at the front.  That's not in the case in the back though.  Be prepared to show off some of your ASSets my friends!

Go grab a demo and try these fun casual pieces for yourself.

80. Short Stuff.

Hey Guys!

Here's some great shorts from Xplosion: The Fever Shorties.  They come in a wide range of designs and 5 standard sizes.  I'm showing the straight up black pair called Shadows.  Because, let's face it, I'm a straight up black kind of guy.

The details on these denim shorts are great!  The bottom of the jeans have a truly frayed edge with the fabric sticking out in all directions.  The fit and quality are superb as these are a variant of the jeans I had shown to you earlier from Xplosion (here).

Do yourself a favour and check them out...and enjoy the tail end of the summer weather in style.

79. If it ain't baroque...

We are heading into another weekend and I have to apologize for slacking lately.  I'll make it up over the weekend. I swear!  I aim for 8 posts per month and you'll get them!

I made my way through the Collabor88 and came up with these pants.  I came out with these pants from Schadenfreude.  You might have figured their theme: Baroque.

With these flashy, fun and fashion forward pants taking the spotlight, I rounded out this outfit with some high quality pieces that in dark tones as to not compete for attention.

77. 5K.

It's Saturday!  Woot Woot!  I hit 5K views.  Thank you all for checking me out and coming back for more.

Hey folks.  Looks like we've made it through another week.  Today, I'm showing you some more things I picked up earlier at the Fashion Voodoo event (and I still have one more outfit to show next).

Starting off with the hair:  This Razor hair from Aotreo comes in just about any colour you can think of, but I've gone with the chocolate here.  The styling of the hair is well done and it looks and fits great from all angles.  The hairbase was included too, which is awesome and should always be the case, right? I think so.

Next up, this great weekend shirt/jacket from n-creative.  I really am enjoying what this store is putting out.  The mesh and texturing is always very detailed and authentic to real life.  This jacket comes in several colour combos including some bright combos for those adventures days.

Finally, these awesome new shoes from 2Real.  The F-Wings shoes include a hud that will let you customize them by colouring the individual parts as you wish and you have a ton of colours to choose from including metallics and camo.  They include a "wing" panel design that hangs from the laces on the outside of the foot, but I have made that invisible for this look.  The only draw back to any high top when wearing mesh pants is that it's pretty much impossible to not have them pop through on you.

62. Summer Comfort.

It's summer.  At least that's true for the part of the world I'm in!  So, it's great to see more summer wear coming out.  And well done, wearable shorts at that!  I've used the new chino shorts from Epicosity to make this straight forward and put together look for any summer day.

59. Just Waiting For You.

Just me hanging out.  Pacing the floor. Flopping on my cool new chair from Zinnia's.  Where are you?

Well, guys and gals.  I have these amazing new jeans from Xplosion to show off to you today.  They come in a very wide range of colours and patterns.  I went with red.  I lean towards red.  I'm sure you've noticed that.  These jeans fit my standard sizing medium shape perfectly and are packed full of high quality detailing in the mesh and the textures.  They come in both male and female versions and, be warned, they show a lot of butt cleaveage!  I was modest and wore a long shirt today.

53. Let's Go On An Escapade, Baby!

I love this Night Escapade Jacket from N-creation!  Probably because I have one almost like it in reality.  Nonetheless, this jacket is rich with detail and has a real sense of style and originality.  The jacket comes in a few colour combinations and has 8 built in T-shirts that coordinate with the colour of that specific jacket.

N-creation has a relatively small but high quality range of unique mesh items available in its store.  I admit I'm curious what to see they come up with next!

52. MHOH VII

Yup, I dragged my tail around the grid Saturday scooping up the treasure left by some of those creative types in the MHOH VII Hunt that started last Friday.  I put this look together utilising just a handful of the great finds waiting for you in this hunt.

A big thank you to all of the designers for their creativity and generosity.  And, of course, also to the all the people that brought the MHOH hunt to fruition.

48. Rock n Roll Dreams Come True.

Here's one with a little but of 'tude.  Just be prepared to use a shoehorn to get the pants on and good luck getting them off again!  Tight leather pants may have worked for the '80s hair bands, but damn!

LOL.  Hope you all are off to a great start of the week.

Break Away From The Herd

In nature, a zebra's pattern helps them blend into the herd.  Well, with this very distinctive zebra print leather jacket from Poison, you'll be standing out from the crowd!  This jacket is bold, to say the least, and will get you noticed in no time.

I've also picked up these stunning eyes from Eddesign.  You don't just get an eye texture, you get what amounts to an entire customisable system.  I am wearing eyes from the Cytrus series and they came with 10 different textures that vary in saturation, 2 twinkle effects, sexy effect (slight glow) and a shiny eye effect (slight shine).  These eyes are definitely worth checking out if you want to stand out!

Fashion For Life: March 10 to March 20, 2012

Today, March 10th, marks the start of the sixth annual Fashion For Life event and it's HUGE.  It's not often that you get to put your shopping to good use.  But this is one of those times.

I came back from the event with my arms full.  It's kind of hard not to after making your way through 9 sims of shops and gacha machines.  So, I'll show you my findings over a few entries.  But, today, I have to show you this HOT jacket from Lapointe & Bastchild.  I know, I know.  Their stuff is always amazing.  But, this jacket is only going to be available during the event at their event store their or their mainstore.  You don't want to miss out on getting one: mixing the coolness of black denim with the sexiness of black leather, this jacket hits all the right points.  Have a look...

All of the talented designers involved with this amazing event, supporting the American Cancer Society, provide us with lots of ways to shop and make a difference!

I've been looking forward to this event for a couple of reasons.  This is a cause that is very important to me as I lost my Mom to cancer last August and know just how devastating this disease is.  Not only for the patient but for their loved ones as well.  Secondly, tomorrow, March 11th, would have been my Mom's 65th birthday.  So, I dedicate this entry into my blog to her and just hope that it will encourage at least one person to support the event.  Every linden matters...every linden is a step closer to a cure.

The Black Leather Jacket.

A guy just can't go wrong with a stylish leather jacket.  Whether you are throwing on jeans and a tee or going with a tie, the right leather jacket can definitely make a statement.

Obviously, I went with the laid back approach again.  This mesh leather jacket from Kal Rau is a sure fire attention getter and offers up a lot of variety for your wardrobe.  With 3 different sizes and 6 different tee shirts, this jacket will be a staple in no time.

As always, I've thrown in some of favourite accessories to add some excitement to the monochromatic look.  These new mesh sunglasses from [JP]:dsg. are loaded with textures options for the lenses, frame, logo and bridge.  I've brought the pink from the glasses down to my Kicks from Entente and echoed the blue accent with Cobrahive' Ear Swirl.
