94. The Falkoty Peacoat

Happy Hump Day!

Midway through another week and Hallowe'en is just a week away!  Time has really been slipping through my fingers this autumn and I'm not sure why or how...

I do have to admit that I've been feeling a little less than inspired lately when it comes to shopping.  I try to keep my eye open for things that show real creativity, skill and quality.  But, lately, I seem to just keep stumbling on things that don't really catch my eye, similar to other things that are already out there or are very simply a mesh full perm item that's in mass production all over the grid.

Don't get me wrong!  I have nothing against using the templated/full perms mesh, but I expect to some real creativity and thought to be put into the texturing of it.  Even then I don't expect to pay more for the item than the full perm package cost to start with!  But, that's just me.

I want to see creativity from creators.

That being said, I am showing off this outfit I put together around BuFu's Falkoty peacoat.  Yep, you've seen this same mesh in other stores.  But, BuFu added their own spin to this one!  I really love the fur lining details at the collar, cuffs and pockets.  It really does give it that warm comfortable feel.  I've added my fun scarf from Sey that was a group gift.  It comes with a hud to tint it as well as change between pumpkin and spider web textures.

85. Going Mono.

Howdy!  Well, here I sit with a new computer.  The old one decided it didn't like to do anything that involved operating.  So, here I sit:  new and improved.  I can actually have shadows on now and move at the same time.  It's insane!

Anyhow, I've had this new vest from Sey to show you for awhile now and I also picked up a bit of inspiration from a great "home" content creator: Apple Fall.

I'm all for black with a dash of colour for interest.  But, I've been inspired by Apple to go with a clean monochromatic look this time around.  Before I get to the clothes, check out the 2 examples of Apple's work that I've included in my photos.  The Dandelion Pendant Lamp (from the mainstore) and the Ionic Screen (from The Mens Dept. for September).  Notice the dedication to the quality and simplicity of these modern mesh designs for your home.  For me, nothing ads interest to a look more than texture: be it clothing or decor.

In showcasing the new vest from Sey, I've pulled together a range of black and grey items to play off the monochomatic pattern of the vest.  But, lets be clear.  This colour scheme is my choice!  You will have your choice of a range of patterns on the vests from cheetah prints to stripes to solids.  You will get two versions of the vest in each pack or all of them in the fat pack.  The vest can be worn on it's own or with either the long or short sleeve T-shirt included.  The T-shirts can even be tinted and retextured via the included hud.  The fit of the mesh is amazing and the texturing is clear and detailed.

Check this vest out today if you haven't already.  Whether you are looking to add a bit of style to your jeans or tossing it over a dress shirt, this is a piece that will turn heads.

78. The Pier

Alrighty!  Here is my third and final blog featuring my finds from the Fashion Voodoo event.  I suited up with my new threads and headed over to The Pier.  By the way, if you love great live music, you need to check this place out!

I picked up this V-neck with a cool neutral print when I was checking out the D R O P store.  I have to say this is a new store for me.  When you visit them, don't forget to pick up the gifts they have at the front of the store!

I love tats with colour.  And this one from Freaks & Geeks that is available at The Men's Dept. is extremely well done.  The colourful and clear design wraps around your neck/collar bone and wrists.  It works great for shirts like this one!

75. The Mens Dept: August.

I was biting my nails all weekend waiting for The Mens Dept. to refresh their offerings.  And, it's here!

As usual, there are tons of great things in store for you this month.  More than I can show you in this post!  But, I did pick up this really cool jacket/shirt combo from Pumpkin that I matched up to some jeans I already had in my inventory.  The shirt is an awesome casual look and is well made and testured, but it only comes in 3 sizes (S, M, L). I even got this great skin from Nivaro, mesh eyes from Poetic Colors and, of course, new hair from Atro Patena.

Have a great week guys and gals...and do some shopping.

65. Heat Up The Summer!

Happy Saturday Guys!

I spent some time making my way around the grid to scout out the hot stuff for this weekend!

Here's a light and refreshing look that will help you add some heat to your summer looks.  The Mens Dept has restocked for July and is loaded with great finds.  Here I've pulled the Dylan skin from Belleza, the cropped chinos from Drop and brightly coloured polo from Sleepy Eddy.  And you cant' forget the great hair by Atro Patena from the Grunge Soul Project collection (Atro Patena also has a hair available at The Mens Dept).

I'll be back soon with more finds!

56. Tie One On.

It's a laid back Sunday for me this week.  Out my window is grey and blah.  So, I've retreated into SL to kill some time and guess what I've ended up doing?  Yep, new blog time.

Mandala had a new release that caught my eye today.  Their new Hokusai Watch that comes in a range of colours and each has the option of a silver or gold face and a casual or formal strap.  I've gone with the silver and casual (cuff) strap as seen in the image below.  As would be expected, this watch is chalk full of rich detail...even if the dial doesn't really keep time.

And I'm wearing culottes.  Yeah, I know.  Shocking!  But, who knew you could throw them together with a more edgier look and make it work?  It works for me at any rate!  Chronokit has these culottes available in 8 colours and 8 patterns.  I stuck with black...it's manly.

Enjoy your Sunday!

49. The Leather Blazer

Hoorenbeek released this great leather blazer recently.  It comes in six colours: black, white, olive, burgundy, tan and brown.  As Hoorenbreek does, the blazer is stylish and elegant with both a closed and open version.  Perfect for dressing it up with some slacks or going a more casual route with jeans.

42. Tall, Dark and Mysterious

I had written this whole long winded explanation of this outfit, but I erased it somehow.  I'm special that way sometimes.  Anyhow, this is the third and final look from my visit to the new collection at The Mens Dept. this week.

The outfit (sweater and pants) are mesh and are one piece.  I definitely makes worrying about your pants breaking through your shirt a non-issue.  I love the texturing and detail of the outfit itself and the only draw back is that it's not lined.  Therefore, you will notice that you can see clear through if you look into a sleeve or the collar of the shirt.

I went outside of my comfort zone a bit and grabbed some long mesh hair and tossed on a pair of my favourite clunky boots.

Enjoy guys and don't forget to head over to The Mens Dept. to check out all the great stuff in this month's collection

40. The Mens Dept.: Collection 2

Hey Guys and Gals!

In case you haven't heard.  The Mens Dept. has released their second round of goods and, I have to say, it's even better than before.  I couldn't decide on just one outfit to show off for y'all.  So, expect a few updates.

Here's the first look.  I see it as more of a night look and it plays off that relaxed cool comfort vibe.

The leopard cardigan from Pivaaca comes in three colours and includes a version for women in it.  It adds some fun.

The scarf from Tee*fy comes in several colours and includes a solid or two-tone version of each.  The set even includes a rigged mesh version.  Which is ... awesome!

And how can you look chill without your loafers?  Balaclava takes care of that with their Pause Loafers in a rich brown tone.

Not to be outdone, MADesigns Hair offers up Sam to complete the look!

29. The Mens Dept. Opens

This weekend marks the grand opening of The Mens Dept.  This "mens only" discount boutique offers up one to three items from notable designers that will be offered for a month.  Every item offered at The Mens Dept is priced between 75L to 150L.

I've pulled together a quick look from the current round of offerings.  The selections suited my standard approach to dressing neutrally with a pop of colour.  I'd strongly encourage you to go and check it out and get in on these and many other great items.
