87. Xplosion of Style!

Hey all!

I just got these awesome review copies from Xplosion!  The Fever MeshTop and the X*Bolt MeshPants both come in a range of colour and textures to suit just about any style and any mood.

I was so impressed with the unique styling of these items that I just had to put together two different looks focusing on these two pieces.  The first look is more of a dark urban look and the second leaps off from more of a punk vibe.

I am always a sucker for black, and love it in this shirt.  The deep cowl neck shows off your tats, chest hair, bling..whatever you got going on.  And the armbands compliment the belt of the jeans perfectly to tie your look together with no real effort on your part!

These jeans sit low on the hips and have a built in belt and chain. I'm not usually a fan of built in accessories but they really do have their merits in the world of mesh if they are well done. And they are definitely well done in this case.  The studded belt and chain co-ordinate with the armbands of the shirt as mentioned and give a cool rocker vibe to your overall look.  These jeans come in lots of colours and patterns and even in leather if you are feeling extra edgy.

85. Going Mono.

Howdy!  Well, here I sit with a new computer.  The old one decided it didn't like to do anything that involved operating.  So, here I sit:  new and improved.  I can actually have shadows on now and move at the same time.  It's insane!

Anyhow, I've had this new vest from Sey to show you for awhile now and I also picked up a bit of inspiration from a great "home" content creator: Apple Fall.

I'm all for black with a dash of colour for interest.  But, I've been inspired by Apple to go with a clean monochromatic look this time around.  Before I get to the clothes, check out the 2 examples of Apple's work that I've included in my photos.  The Dandelion Pendant Lamp (from the mainstore) and the Ionic Screen (from The Mens Dept. for September).  Notice the dedication to the quality and simplicity of these modern mesh designs for your home.  For me, nothing ads interest to a look more than texture: be it clothing or decor.

In showcasing the new vest from Sey, I've pulled together a range of black and grey items to play off the monochomatic pattern of the vest.  But, lets be clear.  This colour scheme is my choice!  You will have your choice of a range of patterns on the vests from cheetah prints to stripes to solids.  You will get two versions of the vest in each pack or all of them in the fat pack.  The vest can be worn on it's own or with either the long or short sleeve T-shirt included.  The T-shirts can even be tinted and retextured via the included hud.  The fit of the mesh is amazing and the texturing is clear and detailed.

Check this vest out today if you haven't already.  Whether you are looking to add a bit of style to your jeans or tossing it over a dress shirt, this is a piece that will turn heads.

74. FaMESHed for August!

Well, I'm up early today and popped over to faMESHed to check out the new round of goodies for the month.  The place is restocked with lots of great mesh finds from clothing to home decor.  It's well worth the look.

Today, I've walked away with this fun and modern suit from Kauna.  The suit includes pants, jacket, shirt and tie.  The fit is superb and well tailored, while the hud that allows you to change the colouring of the suit's trim and fabric belt add a bit of quirk.  Although I am wearing the basic suit in the picture here, you do have the option of buying a black shirt or a set of coloured ties at an additional cost.

73. Moto Jacket from L&B.

I gotta say I'm a happy boy!  What's better than to log in after a nice enjoyable sunny weekend in the rl only to see that one of your favourite designers had done it again with a new release!

I'm talking about the new "Moto" leather jacket that has just been released by Lapointe & Bastchild.  This great looking jacket has the detail you always expect from them and comes in 9 colours and 3 designs (2 of which are limited editions).  I picked up the fatpack that came with a hud to change the jacket texture and includes everything except the limited editions.

I have to admit that I'm usually more into the open jackets than the closed ones.  But, this jacket is pretty sweet and flawless!  The detailing on the back panel is brilliant.  I can't tell you how many times I've loved the front of something when shopping around only to be disappointed by the lack of attention paid to the back ... definitely not the case here!

67. Look To The Sky.

Well, today I guess I was inspired by the blue skies!  Don't worry, I pulled in lots of my signature black too.

I'm sporting the classic tee in sky from Entente and teamed that up with their well detailed Couleur Jeans (this is the default colour) and finally the Les Affaires Tie to as some whimsy to the look.  And, hell, I just had to dig out a hat.  Nothing says fun and carefree like a funky hat...or is that just me?

The great back drop here is from Lisp.  It's the "Sunshine Sky Drapes" with matching rug.  It definitely manages to bring the outdoors inside in a querky and fun way.

65. Heat Up The Summer!

Happy Saturday Guys!

I spent some time making my way around the grid to scout out the hot stuff for this weekend!

Here's a light and refreshing look that will help you add some heat to your summer looks.  The Mens Dept has restocked for July and is loaded with great finds.  Here I've pulled the Dylan skin from Belleza, the cropped chinos from Drop and brightly coloured polo from Sleepy Eddy.  And you cant' forget the great hair by Atro Patena from the Grunge Soul Project collection (Atro Patena also has a hair available at The Mens Dept).

I'll be back soon with more finds!

63. Summer Layers

It's another hot day out there so a cool summer look was needed.  The inspiration from this one came from the Kauna's Open Shirt that is currently the free group gift from faMESHed.  This shirt is well textured to give it that light, soft look that's perfect for looking cool on hot summer days.

So, join that faMESHed group and get this awesome shirt.  Don't forget to check out the other great items there for July including this shirt in a variety of colours.

60. A Touch of Retro.

I had of a little bit of a 70's throwback vibe going on for this one!  The patchwork jeans the major 'stache!

The fun and funky pants are the Madras Pants and like most of their clothing, it's more of a system than an article of clothing unto itself.  You buy the base pants for 400L and then are able to choose from a range of other colours at 150L each to add to the base.  Changing the textures are as easy as clicking on the included HUD.

The new Layered Vest by Epicosity was a great find.  The built in tee has a wide range of colours, so this one item could be the key piece to many outfits: just pair it with short, jeans or khaki's.

59. Just Waiting For You.

Just me hanging out.  Pacing the floor. Flopping on my cool new chair from Zinnia's.  Where are you?

Well, guys and gals.  I have these amazing new jeans from Xplosion to show off to you today.  They come in a very wide range of colours and patterns.  I went with red.  I lean towards red.  I'm sure you've noticed that.  These jeans fit my standard sizing medium shape perfectly and are packed full of high quality detailing in the mesh and the textures.  They come in both male and female versions and, be warned, they show a lot of butt cleaveage!  I was modest and wore a long shirt today.

58. Standard Sizing

Hey Guys!

Ok, no sensational styling or couture coolness today.  Today, I just wanted to take a moment to let you know about standard sizing.  The ladies have had it for awhile and and the collective that established standard sizing for women has now done so for the men.

What's this mean?  Well, there are 9 sliders that you might want to adjust and from then on ... wait for it ... no more adjusting your shape with every new purchasae you make!  I know, crazy stuff!  Provided of course you purchase from designers that create their mesh fashions under the standard sizing guidelines.  How would you know?  Easy, they will show the logo for standardized sizing on their ads.

I know the idea of changing your shape to one of the standard sizes sounds off-putting and will likely make us all the same.  But, it won't.  Only nine of your sliders are effected and the rest you can leave as they are.

So, as it stands for me, I tend to range between a small and a medium in mesh and have a ton of variations of my shape to allow for the differences in designers.  To help illustrate the point, I've gone ahead and made a small and medium standard sizing version of my shape to compare against the one I am most often using now.  Have a look:

From Left to Right: Standard Sizing Small, Current Shape, Standard Sizing Medium

From Left to Right: Standard Sizing Small, Current Shape, Standard Sizing Medium
The differences are subtle, but I think I'll be adopting the Medium Size when the designs are actively producing items that adhere to these specifications.  You can get the specifics on the slider values and more information here:

The bigger question that remains for me is this:  Will the creators that have already made so many great mens mesh fashions go back and redo them to adhere to these sizes and provide the new versions to anyone who bought them previously?  Most likely not, but we can hope.  So, make sure you keep a copy of your current shape that you are using before you tweak.

Take care for now,
Ty

56. Tie One On.

It's a laid back Sunday for me this week.  Out my window is grey and blah.  So, I've retreated into SL to kill some time and guess what I've ended up doing?  Yep, new blog time.

Mandala had a new release that caught my eye today.  Their new Hokusai Watch that comes in a range of colours and each has the option of a silver or gold face and a casual or formal strap.  I've gone with the silver and casual (cuff) strap as seen in the image below.  As would be expected, this watch is chalk full of rich detail...even if the dial doesn't really keep time.

And I'm wearing culottes.  Yeah, I know.  Shocking!  But, who knew you could throw them together with a more edgier look and make it work?  It works for me at any rate!  Chronokit has these culottes available in 8 colours and 8 patterns.  I stuck with black...it's manly.

Enjoy your Sunday!

54. Make A Splash!

Ok.  So, I have this external pressure to do underwear from time to time.  Now is the time!  I made my way to Vitamen recently to pick up their group gift for May/June.  They are tight, they are white and they are free!  What's not to love?

This set includes the white boxers with the gold waistband featured in the main photo along with the all white version in the inset photo.  Go grab some.  Did I mention they were free?

Oh!  And Butter ... do these pass the sexy quality control test? LOL

49. The Leather Blazer

Hoorenbeek released this great leather blazer recently.  It comes in six colours: black, white, olive, burgundy, tan and brown.  As Hoorenbreek does, the blazer is stylish and elegant with both a closed and open version.  Perfect for dressing it up with some slacks or going a more casual route with jeans.

30. Gabriel Leather Jacket

I've had this outfit put together for awhile and thought I'd share it.  I am loving the relaxed fit and feel of this leather jacket (mesh) from Gabriel.  I'm wearing the brown version, but it comes in 5 other colours to suit your preference.  Well worth checking out a demo.
