99. The FROST Event and FATEwear new releases

I thought I'd wish everyone a "Happy Day Before the End of the World!".  Sounds so festive and celebratory...no?  Ok, yeah I might have my doubts, but I also have a basement with a load of bottled water and Christmas cookies.  I'm good either way.

I've been spending some time running around SL lately with the lovely and talented Lavindia Jewell Fox as she dragged me through The Frost Event against my will...to start.  But, then I started shopping and ditched her.  Ok, I didn't ditch her, I knew she was still on the sim someplace.

So, in the end, I've teamed up some of my great finds from the The Frost Event with some of the great new releases from FATEwear.  These great knit gloves, and socks come in either solids or stripes and go perfect with the striped scarves that were just released by FATEwear and are perfect for finishing off that warm and cozy winter look.

95. The Long Coat

Be it SL or RL, I love the look of a well made long coat.  And when I saw this one when strolling through the Pumpkin store a couple weeks ago, I had to have it.  Granted, it was my best buddy, Lavi, that ended up getting it for me.  Ain't she sweet?

This coat does come in several colours and the long scarf is part of the coat itself.  You can change the colour of the scarf via a hud that's included with the coat to customize your look.  Throw this over jeans for a casual and refined look or wear it with your slacks and dress shoes for more classic look.  No matter where you wear it or how...you'll look great.

93. Get Ready For Hallowe'en.

FATEwear has just released two great pieces aimed to make your Hallowe'en awesome!  The Desmond Coat that I'm featuring here today and the Rob Suit (perfect for the zombie look...or hangovers).  The Desmond Coat is inspired Assassin's Creed and comes in seven colours.

The jacket comes with a separate hood in two size variations and is well tailored to the standard sizes for mesh.  Although it's targeted for Hallowe'en, this jacket would be great for role playing or just getting noticed on the streets of SL.

90. In The Trench.

I'm back with more FATEwear from their recent new releases.  It's that time of the year.  The beautiful colours of fall return with the almost forgotten chill of the autumn air.  Well, we all know that means it's time to bundle up or be tough and freeze  your ass off.  I don't know about you, but I'm too old to be tough: I opt for bundling up!  And we all want to do that in style, right?

FATEwear has the perfect coat to take you from the busy city to a country stroll in class.  This handsome trench styled coat is cinched at the waist and casually tied off.  The workmanship in this piece is all that you'd expect from FATEwear.  The detailing and refinement of the mesh exhibit a true understanding of how material would play in the real world.  The coat comes in a range of colours: desert, london, tundra, ocean, void, and volcano.

I've paired up the Roy pants with his jacket.  The casual yet tailored fit of the pants finishes off this clean look perfectly.  And the subtle detail of the striping in the material is enough to create some interest and texture.

Guys! Get over to FATEwear and grab some demos! :)

89. Boot Pants!

I don't know if this drives you as crazy as it drives me, but I just hate when I'm wearing something and the mesh clips or pops through something else that I'm wearing.  The biggest area of concern for this issue has always been with the hem of your pants meeting your boots or shoes.  Well, Tableau Vivant has come up with a solution for those boot issue with their newly released Boot Pants!  These tight fitting pants stay tapered against the leg allowing you to wear almost any boot without the pants popping through.

I also had to pick up the amazing boots that they had used in their promo pictures because well...clearly they are awesome!  I carried the studs through into a cuff on my wrist and finished off the look with the classic staple of the motorcycle jacket.  But, the twist to this one is the python texturing.  You gotta keep things interesting ... especially if you are going with an all black look.

88. FATEwear 2.0

FATEwear hasn't been open that long, but we are already being treated to a new round of amazing creations.  I have a bunch of things to show you, so this is going to be broken into a couple posts again.

Above is the Dean Jacket in Volcano. And it sure is hot!  The styling is perfect for these coming autumn day. Half zipped with the fabric draped casual and realistically against your chest and the detailing of the straps and snaps.  This jacket is full of interest and comes in a range of colours and you can wear it with or without includes shirts.

The newly released turtleneck sweater Sheldon has a warm and cosy look while staying clean and stylish. It's straight forward restrained design is complimented by the rich detail in texturing of the fabric and shadows.  Perfect to pair with your jeans, slacks or leathers.

87. Xplosion of Style!

Hey all!

I just got these awesome review copies from Xplosion!  The Fever MeshTop and the X*Bolt MeshPants both come in a range of colour and textures to suit just about any style and any mood.

I was so impressed with the unique styling of these items that I just had to put together two different looks focusing on these two pieces.  The first look is more of a dark urban look and the second leaps off from more of a punk vibe.

I am always a sucker for black, and love it in this shirt.  The deep cowl neck shows off your tats, chest hair, bling..whatever you got going on.  And the armbands compliment the belt of the jeans perfectly to tie your look together with no real effort on your part!

These jeans sit low on the hips and have a built in belt and chain. I'm not usually a fan of built in accessories but they really do have their merits in the world of mesh if they are well done. And they are definitely well done in this case.  The studded belt and chain co-ordinate with the armbands of the shirt as mentioned and give a cool rocker vibe to your overall look.  These jeans come in lots of colours and patterns and even in leather if you are feeling extra edgy.

86. New: L&B Mesh Leather Pants

For the longest time Lapointe & Bastchild's texture/sculptie leather pants were my go to for well made and detailed leather pants for guys in SL.  But, now Paul Lapointe has outdone himself again with the release of these mesh leather pants for men!

I snatched up the fatpack of three designs that included a plain, quilted and ribbed version that can be changed via hud. If you are a fan of their signature gothic decorative artwork on the pants, don't fear, a collection of 8 designed has also been released.

The fit of these pants is perfect.  Just like the jeans, these pants are made to accentuate and fit to your masculine form.  No flat asses and bean pole legs here!  These are made for men.

I also had some fun taking these pictures at one of the many free to use photo sets at Photo Square.  You need to check this place out if you like photography in SL or just need a new profile picture.  There are three levels of studios for you to use to create your work of art. All they ask for is a donation if you want to make one.  It sure beats having to buy studios and cubes that you will probably only use once.

85. Going Mono.

Howdy!  Well, here I sit with a new computer.  The old one decided it didn't like to do anything that involved operating.  So, here I sit:  new and improved.  I can actually have shadows on now and move at the same time.  It's insane!

Anyhow, I've had this new vest from Sey to show you for awhile now and I also picked up a bit of inspiration from a great "home" content creator: Apple Fall.

I'm all for black with a dash of colour for interest.  But, I've been inspired by Apple to go with a clean monochromatic look this time around.  Before I get to the clothes, check out the 2 examples of Apple's work that I've included in my photos.  The Dandelion Pendant Lamp (from the mainstore) and the Ionic Screen (from The Mens Dept. for September).  Notice the dedication to the quality and simplicity of these modern mesh designs for your home.  For me, nothing ads interest to a look more than texture: be it clothing or decor.

In showcasing the new vest from Sey, I've pulled together a range of black and grey items to play off the monochomatic pattern of the vest.  But, lets be clear.  This colour scheme is my choice!  You will have your choice of a range of patterns on the vests from cheetah prints to stripes to solids.  You will get two versions of the vest in each pack or all of them in the fat pack.  The vest can be worn on it's own or with either the long or short sleeve T-shirt included.  The T-shirts can even be tinted and retextured via the included hud.  The fit of the mesh is amazing and the texturing is clear and detailed.

Check this vest out today if you haven't already.  Whether you are looking to add a bit of style to your jeans or tossing it over a dress shirt, this is a piece that will turn heads.

84. Embrace Your Fate...

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

So, I'm back with some more great stuff from FATEwear today.  I've shown you a couple casual looks and a couple more formal looks in my last post.  This time I've decided to go in the middle ground.  I've even worked in my favourite colour: red!  Or, to be specific Volcano.

Check out the detail in the fabric texture!
FATEwear has a great palette of colours and Damien has even gone out of his way to name the shades.  You won't find white, green or black at FATEwear.  Oh no, you get forest, tundra and void!

I've combined the untucked Hei volcano shirt (tundra tie included) with the tundra pants from the Smith Suit outfit.  This goes against the rule of thumb for FATEwear as anything with the same name is made to fit together.  For example, if a shirt is named Jimmy and pants are named Jimmy.  Those two pieces will fit together perfectly.  But, as you can see here, don't be afraid to mix and match.  Although these designs have different names, they still work together well and look amazing together.

Lastly, check out my awesome new chair that I picked up at faMESHed this month!  It rocks, right? I love these classic designs come to the grid.  Would have liked the leather to be a bit more detailed and it seems the poses are more geared to female AVs.  But, all the same, I have it set up in my library and it looks great!

82. Not So Bad ... Pretty Good

Hey All!

Let me take a moment here.  I have to confide in you that I need to slow down on my blog for personal and real life reasons.  So, I apologize to you all for that.  I do appreciate the support of everyone that comes here and I hope that I've helped you out and will do my best to squeeze in some posts from time to time.

Ok, now to the fun stuff.  Not So Bad has released new Joris jeans and the Mason t-shirt with prints.  The jeans are superb in both design and texture.  They have a nice thick cuff at the hem and a higher crotch than their previous releases.  The height of the cuff will allow you to wear any kicks you want without the dreaded clipping of mesh on shoe.  It's important to note that their sizing isn't conforming to standardized sizing though.  I am a medium in standardized sizing and have gone with both a small pant and shirt for these images.

The Mason t-shirts come in a range of colours with a variety of printed sayings.  I've gone with the pink "Bad Hair Day" version of the shirt even if my hair is looking awesome!  The shirt is nicely sculpted but the texture is less refined than that of the jeans.  I also find that the shirt does clip the jeans a bit at the front.  That's not in the case in the back though.  Be prepared to show off some of your ASSets my friends!

Go grab a demo and try these fun casual pieces for yourself.

81. The Brooklyn Jacket

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Well, here it is the start of September.  It's hard to believe that the summer is coming to a close already and we need to enjoy these last few days of sun and warmth before things start to change.

But, there is a bright side to the change in climate.  You get to go shopping for cool weather clothing and I have some great things to show you to add some warmth and style to your autumn.

To start with is this great leather jacket that was recently released by hoorenbeek.  The mesh and texturing are up to the usual high quality that you'd expect and it comes in six colours: black, beige, brown, burgundy, grey and tan.  The jackets include variety of t-shirt options if you choose to wear the jacket open like I did.  You also have the option of wearing it zipped up on those really cool days.

I'm wearing the burgundy jacket here along with the V-neck, half tucked cross t-shirt.  I really like how the half tuck t-shirt shows off the belt buckle on the jeans.  Additionally, I went with some nice red Dr. H boots to play off the burgundy of the jacket.  Toss on some stylish and sleek Hollywood glasses and you are set with a warm but cool look for the fall.

Additional side note for you, hoorenbeek's is currently having a sale for additional t-shirt designs that work with all of their mesh jackets.  Just 200L each til the end of today.

80. Short Stuff.

Hey Guys!

Here's some great shorts from Xplosion: The Fever Shorties.  They come in a wide range of designs and 5 standard sizes.  I'm showing the straight up black pair called Shadows.  Because, let's face it, I'm a straight up black kind of guy.

The details on these denim shorts are great!  The bottom of the jeans have a truly frayed edge with the fabric sticking out in all directions.  The fit and quality are superb as these are a variant of the jeans I had shown to you earlier from Xplosion (here).

Do yourself a favour and check them out...and enjoy the tail end of the summer weather in style.

79. If it ain't baroque...

We are heading into another weekend and I have to apologize for slacking lately.  I'll make it up over the weekend. I swear!  I aim for 8 posts per month and you'll get them!

I made my way through the Collabor88 and came up with these pants.  I came out with these pants from Schadenfreude.  You might have figured their theme: Baroque.

With these flashy, fun and fashion forward pants taking the spotlight, I rounded out this outfit with some high quality pieces that in dark tones as to not compete for attention.

78. The Pier

Alrighty!  Here is my third and final blog featuring my finds from the Fashion Voodoo event.  I suited up with my new threads and headed over to The Pier.  By the way, if you love great live music, you need to check this place out!

I picked up this V-neck with a cool neutral print when I was checking out the D R O P store.  I have to say this is a new store for me.  When you visit them, don't forget to pick up the gifts they have at the front of the store!

I love tats with colour.  And this one from Freaks & Geeks that is available at The Men's Dept. is extremely well done.  The colourful and clear design wraps around your neck/collar bone and wrists.  It works great for shirts like this one!

77. 5K.

It's Saturday!  Woot Woot!  I hit 5K views.  Thank you all for checking me out and coming back for more.

Hey folks.  Looks like we've made it through another week.  Today, I'm showing you some more things I picked up earlier at the Fashion Voodoo event (and I still have one more outfit to show next).

Starting off with the hair:  This Razor hair from Aotreo comes in just about any colour you can think of, but I've gone with the chocolate here.  The styling of the hair is well done and it looks and fits great from all angles.  The hairbase was included too, which is awesome and should always be the case, right? I think so.

Next up, this great weekend shirt/jacket from n-creative.  I really am enjoying what this store is putting out.  The mesh and texturing is always very detailed and authentic to real life.  This jacket comes in several colour combos including some bright combos for those adventures days.

Finally, these awesome new shoes from 2Real.  The F-Wings shoes include a hud that will let you customize them by colouring the individual parts as you wish and you have a ton of colours to choose from including metallics and camo.  They include a "wing" panel design that hangs from the laces on the outside of the foot, but I have made that invisible for this look.  The only draw back to any high top when wearing mesh pants is that it's pretty much impossible to not have them pop through on you.

76. Old School.

Howdy All!

Well, I made it to the Fashion Voodoo by Depraved Nation.  I picked up a few nice things and am showing off the first of them today.

I can't resist a well done and unique jacket.  This leather Old School jacket from N-Creation is just that.  Tons of details in the texturing and mesh and a great fit.  It comes in 3 colours (I'm wearing brown).  This jacket also comes with 4 built in shirts and this jacket looks awesome with khakis or jeans...whatever you mood may be.

74. FaMESHed for August!

Well, I'm up early today and popped over to faMESHed to check out the new round of goodies for the month.  The place is restocked with lots of great mesh finds from clothing to home decor.  It's well worth the look.

Today, I've walked away with this fun and modern suit from Kauna.  The suit includes pants, jacket, shirt and tie.  The fit is superb and well tailored, while the hud that allows you to change the colouring of the suit's trim and fabric belt add a bit of quirk.  Although I am wearing the basic suit in the picture here, you do have the option of buying a black shirt or a set of coloured ties at an additional cost.

73. Moto Jacket from L&B.

I gotta say I'm a happy boy!  What's better than to log in after a nice enjoyable sunny weekend in the rl only to see that one of your favourite designers had done it again with a new release!

I'm talking about the new "Moto" leather jacket that has just been released by Lapointe & Bastchild.  This great looking jacket has the detail you always expect from them and comes in 9 colours and 3 designs (2 of which are limited editions).  I picked up the fatpack that came with a hud to change the jacket texture and includes everything except the limited editions.

I have to admit that I'm usually more into the open jackets than the closed ones.  But, this jacket is pretty sweet and flawless!  The detailing on the back panel is brilliant.  I can't tell you how many times I've loved the front of something when shopping around only to be disappointed by the lack of attention paid to the back ... definitely not the case here!

72. New Vest from Sey

Happy Friday!

It's been a week since I posted last!  Time sure flies in the summer, eh?

Well, today I've got a great weekend look for you.  Sey has this amazing vest out now that is comes in a variety of patterns and it even includes an optional tee change with a hud to change the colour.  It's easy to make any outfit look pulled together with a layered item like this and you can't beat the attention to detail that goes into Sey products.
