87. Xplosion of Style!

Hey all!

I just got these awesome review copies from Xplosion!  The Fever MeshTop and the X*Bolt MeshPants both come in a range of colour and textures to suit just about any style and any mood. 

I was so impressed with the unique styling of these items that I just had to put together two different looks focusing on these two pieces.  The first look is more of a dark urban look and the second leaps off from more of a punk vibe.

 

I am always a sucker for black, and love it in this shirt.  The deep cowl neck shows off your tats, chest hair, bling..whatever you got going on.  And the armbands compliment the belt of the jeans perfectly to tie your look together with no real effort on your part!

 

 

These jeans sit low on the hips and have a built in belt and chain. I'm not usually a fan of built in accessories but they really do have their merits in the world of mesh if they are well done. And they are definitely well done in this case.  The studded belt and chain co-ordinate with the armbands of the shirt as mentioned and give a cool rocker vibe to your overall look.  These jeans come in lots of colours and patterns and even in leather if you are feeling extra edgy.

86. New: L&B Mesh Leather Pants

For the longest time Lapointe & Bastchild's texture/sculptie leather pants were my go to for well made and detailed leather pants for guys in SL.  But, now Paul Lapointe has outdone himself again with the release of these mesh leather pants for men!

 

I snatched up the fatpack of three designs that included a plain, quilted and ribbed version that can be changed via hud. If you are a fan of their signature gothic decorative artwork on the pants, don't fear, a collection of 8 designed has also been released.

 

The fit of these pants is perfect.  Just like the jeans, these pants are made to accentuate and fit to your masculine form.  No flat asses and bean pole legs here!  These are made for men. 

 

I also had some fun taking these pictures at one of the many free to use photo sets at Photo Square.  You need to check this place out if you like photography in SL or just need a new profile picture.  There are three levels of studios for you to use to create your work of art. All they ask for is a donation if you want to make one.  It sure beats having to buy studios and cubes that you will probably only use once.

63. Summer Layers

It's another hot day out there so a cool summer look was needed.  The inspiration from this one came from the Kauna's Open Shirt that is currently the free group gift from faMESHed.  This shirt is well textured to give it that light, soft look that's perfect for looking cool on hot summer days.

44. It Was A Rainy Day...

It was just one of those rainy overcast days.  Stuck in the house with not much to do.  Well, stuck in the house with my wifey.  We found something to do!

There isn't much to say, it's all self explanatory.

43. I've Been Lazy.

Yup, I've been lazy.  I've been wearing the same thing for some 5 or 6 days now.  It's driving my wife all crazy and I'm pretty sure I'm getting stinky and crusty.  So, just to commemorate this look (because she'll definitely want to look back on this one), I'm blogging it.

Now, this is a pure mish-mash of things I love.  Some are old and just not even sold anymore. Some are new and you might have to hustle if you want to get them before they vanish.

All in all, I like it and think I look all cool and shiz (she makes me say that word, I swear).  But, it looks like I'm going to have to change soon.

41. Bare Essentials

Hey! Long time no see!

Back again already.  Like I said, I had picked up a few looks from The Mens Dept.'s new round of stuff.  So, here we go with my second look.  And, this one is rather minimal.

These fresh undies are from Lazybum and come with a prim bulge and drawstrings.  There isn't much to say except get some.

Crack That Whip! Redux

Well, I promised you a more street wear friendly version of my "Crack That Whip!" outfit and here it is.  I've retained several of the main elements, including the inspiration piece: The Ring Master Jacket!  By keeping the colour palette of the jeans and accessories dark and using a colour pulled from the jacket's lapel, the jacket is highlighted perfectly!

Let's face it, you'd be hard pressed to catch me walking around in the fishnet stockings featured in the first look, but by toning it down and replacing the over-the-top elements with more everyday casual items, the look is very accessible.

Crack that whip!

Is it just me or does SL sometimes feel like a circus?

This virtual world of ours gets to feel like we are centre stage in a three ring circus.  Sometimes we're the Ring Master, sometimes the clown and sometimes the sucker following the elephants.  Whether you are soaring with your accomplishments, delighting in the company of your friends and loved ones or feel like you just stepped in a steaming pile of elephant dung...it's sometimes the greatest show on earth.

At least, that's what came to mind for me when I first spotted this Ring Master's Jacket from Lazybum.  The strong lines in the structure of the collar and lapel accentuated by the striped insets make this an eye catcher!  The jacket comes in a variety of colours to suit your mood.  And, yes, this outfit is definitely a flight of fancy.  An extreme look that may not work for day to day life.  But, for today, the look sums up the excitement, beauty, awkwardness and oddity that is our SL lives.

 

Just as we manage to take all that our SLives throw at us and turn it into a positive and rewarding experience, in an upcoming posting, I will take inspiration from this over-the-big-top look and turn it into a fun look for everyday wear.
